Introducing Nut Chess.

Nut Chess is a unique example of using nuts and bolts in an unconventional way to create a durable, modern-designed chess set.

The initiative began with an idea to create an affordable, durable, and portable chess set for myself to play with friends.

Since the pieces needed to be strong, I focused on metal from the start. However, machining small metal elements to resemble chess pieces turned out to be very expensive. So, I started looking for a completely new way to use readily available materials, and I came up with the idea of using stainless steel nuts and bolts.

I configured them to represent the various chess pieces, and that’s how Nut Chess was born. The idea was well-received, and after encouragement from family and friends, I decided to try bringing my product to market.

The Design

Each piece is crafted from stainless steel metric nuts and bolts.

The color is achieved through a galvanization process that provides exceptional durability and scratch resistance, far surpassing traditional powder coating.

The board, made from stainless steel sheet metal with rubber-protected edges, is stable and secure – no matter what surface you’re playing on.

The board is printed using UV printing and coated with a protective layer to enhance durability.
